Recently, DCC-OCC has partnered with Elsevier, a global leader in research publishing and information analytics, to jointly launch a cross-journal special issue series themed around the Ocean Decade. This initiative marks a new milestone in their collaboration since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in July 2024.
The first round of special issues is developed in collaboration with several endorsed Ocean Decade Actions and covers key thematic areas that deeply influence the ocean-climate nexus, including ocean and climate change, marine pollution and health, ocean governance and ecology, and ocean literacy. The issues feature high-impact ocean-related journals from Elsevier's portfolio.
The Ocean Decade Special Issue Series aims to systematically showcase critical scientific and technological progress in the ocean-climate domain since the start of the Ocean Decade. It highlights exemplary cases of scientific innovation and governance practices and provides academic support for marine science development in developing countries.

Previously, the DCC-OCC and Elsevier formally signed a MoU.
