The global ocean serves as the planet's primary climatic buffer and ecological engine, yet its intricate and dynamic fluid systems continue to pose some of Earth's most profound scientific challenges. As climate change and anthropogenic pressures intensify, advancing our understanding of ocean dynamics—and developing the sophisticated numerical models needed to simulate them—has become not only a scientific imperative but a global responsibility.
In response to this urgent need, UNESCO/IOC-RTRC-ODC center will hold its 15th training course on Ocean dynamics and ocean models in Qingdao during 1-11 September 2026 and now open for application. Applications are welcome from present and prospective PhD students, postdocs, and early career scientists. The training course will feature a series of keynote and invited lectures, frontier research presentations, and hands-on technical training. A limited number of grants are available to support the attendance of selected participants, with priority given to participants from developing countries.
For anyone who is interested in joining the training, please kindly submit your information via the online application system (https://odc.fio.com.cn/Register/) before 20 May 2026.
More detailed information about the training will continue to be updated on the ODC website.
