On May 15, 2024, Deputy Director of the Malaysian Meteorological Department, Ambun Dindang, and scientist, Diong Jeong Yik, visited the Decade Collaborative Center on Ocean-Climate Nexus and Coordination Amongst Decade Implementing Partners in P.R. China (DCC-OCC), engaging in discussions on the development and collaboration between the Malaysian Meteorological Department and DCC-OCC.
During the meeting, Dr. SUN Jing, project officer of DCC-OCC, attended and presented recent progress and future prospects of the Centre. She emphasized the importance of DCC-OCC as an international cooperation platform in the field of marine science and the shared mission with partner countries to promote sustainable development of global ocean affairs. Technical exchanges, talent cultivation, data sharing, and capacity building were discussed in depth during the meeting, particularly focusing on topics like capacity building training courses. Preliminary planning for the implementation of future cooperation projects and collaboration frameworks was also conducted.
This visit not only deepened mutual understanding of cooperation in the field of marine science but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. Both sides expressed their commitment to enhancing exchanges and cooperation, contributing to the sustainable development of the ocean.
Sun Jing introduced DCC-OCC to the Malaysian Meteorological Department delegation
