In order to deepen understanding and cooperation, representatives from the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO), the Italian headquarters of the PRADA Group, and Italian media recently visited the First Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources (FIO)。
The Deputy Director-General of FIO and the Director of the Decade Collaborative Center on Ocean-Climate Nexus and Coordination Amongst Decade Implementing Partners in P.R. China (DCC-OCC), Qiao Fangli, welcomed the visitors. Francesca Santoro, the head of the Ocean Literacy Department of IOC-UNESCO, elaborated on the purpose of the visit. Dr. Guan Song from DCC-OCC introduced the basic information of DCC-OCC, and both sides had a constructive discussion. Subsequently, accompanied by the staff of DCC-OCC, the delegation visited the High-Performance Computing Center, the Marine Microplastic and Pollutants Analysis Lab, and the China Ocean Sample Repository of FIO, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the significant scientific achievements of FIO and the core functions of DCC-OCC.
