As the 2026 World Oceans Day and National Ocean Publicity Day are approaching, the Ocean Decade on Campus events will be held successively at Xiamen University and Xiamen Yingcai School from June 7 to 8. Co-organized by the DCC-OCC, China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association (COMRA), Sun Yat-sen University, and Global Youth Philanthropy, these events aim to promote marine scientific spirit among university students and young people, nurturing a new generation that "knows, loves, and protects the ocean."

Xiamen University Session: Cutting-edge Dialogues on Marine Science and Global Governance

Time: June 7 (Sunday), 15:00

Venue: 2nd Floor Cafe, Zhou Longquan Building, Xiamen University

Special guests include Qiao Fangli, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Chief Engineer of the First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, and Professor Yu Weidong, Dean of the School of Atmospheric Sciences and Director of the Center of Ocean Expedition at Sun Yat-sen University. They will share insights on ocean climate prediction, global ocean governance challenges, and tropical ocean observation. Faculty and students of Xiamen University are warmly welcome.

Xiamen Yingcai School Session: Become a New-Era Guardian of the Blue Ocean

Time: June 8 (Monday), 14:00-16:30

Venue: Xiamen Yingcai School

Professor Yu Weidong, Dean of the School of Atmospheric Sciences and Director of the Center of Ocean Expedition at Sun Yat-sen University, Researcher Liu Fangming from the First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, and Ms. Xie Yuanyuan, founder of Global Youth Philanthropy, will guide young participants to explore the mysteries of the ocean and climate, and share knowledge on marine ecological protection.

All university students, young people, and the public who care about ocean affairs are welcome to join.
