The United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) (hereinafter referred to as the "Ocean Decade") is designed to strengthen the science-policy interface and enhance science-informed policies to promote integrated ocean management. It relies heavily on numerical climate models to address climate change, which is the top priority in the current policy-making process, while the models have been an indispensable tool in ocean and climate governance and study since they were developed. An essential component of this initiative is the utilization of numerical climate models to address the pressing issue of climate change, which is currently the top priority in the policymaking process. These models have long been regarded as vital tools in the study and governance of ocean and climate since they were developed, offering valuable insights into predicting and projecting future climate scenarios. However, given the significant uncertainties associated with climate prediction mes and to projection, it is imperative to continuously improve these models by incorporating numerous numerical sche address their inherent limitations. It is crucial that these new schemes are developed based on emerging scientific understanding and rigorously validated before their widespread implementation in the models. The United Nations Decade Collaborative Centre on Ocean-Climate Nexus and Coordination Amongst Decade Implementing Partners in P.R. China (DCC-OCC) is now inviting global groups specializing model development to contribute and test diverse numerical schemes to enhance their models. This initiative serves for DCC-OCC's endeavor to enhance the understanding of ocean-climate nexus and generate knowledge and solutions for mitigating, adapting to and building resilience against climate change across all regions and at various scales, as outlined in its endorsed responsibilities. Throughout the implementation of the Ocean Decade, testing reports will be consistently published, and this report serves as the inaugural installment in the series, with the anticipation of future valuable schemes.
