On August 31, Li Wei, Chief Engineer of POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited （HDEC）， visited the First Institute of Oceanography （FIO） of the Ministry of Natural Resources and DCC-OCC.

Qiao Fangli, Deputy Director-General of the FIO, warmly welcomed Li Wei and his delegation. Li Wei introduced the positioning, development history, current project situation, and long-term planning and expectations in the field of marine new energy of HDEC. Dr. Guan Song, Senior Project Officer of DCC-OCC, detailed the background, positioning, implementation framework, and work content of the Center, and proposed to explore ways and areas of cooperation between the two parties from the perspective of promoting the participation of new energy companies in the "Ocean Decade".

During the talks, the two sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on how to combine the technology and resources of enterprises with the "Ocean Decade", and how to better promote and apply the results of the "Ocean Decade". Deputy Director-General Qiao Fangli pointed out that participating in the "Ocean Decade" can not only bring scientific research and technological support to enterprises but also is an important way for enterprises to fulfill their social responsibilities. The meeting ended in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere, and the two sides reached several preliminary intentions for cooperation and looked forward to more in-depth cooperation in the near future.
