The Deputy Director of National Marine Museum, Liu Jie, and her delegation held discussions with representatives of the DCC-OCC.

On August 23rd, Deputy Director Liu Jie of the National Marine Museum (Tianjin), along with her delegation, visited the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO) of the Ministry of Natural Resources and held discussions with representatives from the DCC-OCC. Qiao Fangli, director of the DCC-OCC and Deputy Director of the FIO, and Li Li, the head of the International Cooperation Department of the FIO, and other relevant staff from the DCC-OCC, participated in the discussion.

During the discussions, Director Qiao Fangli warmly welcomed the visit from the National Marine Museum (Tianjin) and elucidated the significant role and primary ways the museum could participate in the "Ocean Decade." Deputy Director Liu Jie presented an overview of the establishment and current operations of the National Marine Museum (Tianjin) and proposed incorporating the theme of "Ocean Decade" into the museum's development plan. Dr. Guan Song, the senior project director of the DCC-OCC, introduced the primary objectives and progress of the "Ocean Decade" and the main functions and tasks of the collaboration center. She emphasized the crucial role of marine culture and science education in implementing the "Ocean Decade" and in the development of the collaboration center.

During the meeting, both parties reached a preliminary consensus on promoting science education and enhancing the marine literacy of citizens under the framework of the "Ocean Decade" by leveraging the platform provided by the center. They also engaged in in-depth discussions about upcoming collaborative projects and activities.
